My name is Nabila. I am 28 years old and I am doing my Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology at Umeå University.
I study how plants sense cold temperatures and how they manage to put on their ”molecular winter sweaters” just in time to not freeze.
Many ask why it is important to know this. The reason is: Climate change will make sudden cold periods, so called cold snaps, very unpredictable – as you might have seen in the news lately. And this affects our crops, and ultimately us.
