Visualising Viruses

Hi, my name is Karim and I am a researcher interested in understanding how viruses can hijack the cell and use it to produce new viruses. To do this I am using a powerful microscope that allows me to take pictures of viruses and from that build a 3D model.

I am originally from Germany and have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s studies there, before moving to Scotland for my PhD and coming here to Umeå for my postdoctoral work.
