A journey inside the human body: Understanding health and disease one drop of blood at a time

Have you ever wondered what makes up the human body beyond what we can see? Scientists use special tools to map proteins—the tiny building blocks of life. At the Human Protein Atlas, we study where and when proteins appear in the body to understand their roles in health and disease.
My work focuses on blood-based proteomics, analyzing thousands of proteins at once to compare diseases, not just to healthy samples, but to each other. This helps identify unique protein patterns, improving diagnosis and treatment. By using tiny blood samples, even from at-home tests, we aim to make discoveries that benefit real patients.

Därför forskar jag: I really enjoy understanding more about nature and using data to improve our understanding of life’s processes.
Praktisk information
I do molecular biology. Some of the topics might seem a bit specific or advanced, but I can definitely adapt the talk to different levels.
