Electron transfer is a fundamental process in chemistry that involves moving electrons from one place to another. Although it sounds simple, it’s one of the most crucial processes in biology that helps regulate various functions of living organisms. Without proper control of electrons, life couldn’t exist as we know it. For example, photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation are two vital processes that rely on this process.
Scientists have spent a lot of time studying electron transfer to understand how it works and how to control it better. By doing so we hope to understand how different chemical reactions occur in living organisms and how we can control them and use for our purposes.
