Cell therapy for difficult-to-heal skin wounds

Skin wounds represent a huge challenges for burn victims, patients with diabetic ulcers and elderly patients with bed sores. Despite the great advancement in medical care, cell-based therapy represents a novel approach for management. The prinicipals of cell-based therapy and the recent development in the research and development unit for skin and cultured cells at Linköping University Hospital will be presented.
