I am an accelerator physicist and I had the privilege to participate in the design, construction and operations of two of the world most impressive particle accelerators ever built: the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland and the European Spallation Source in Lund, Sweden.
The particles accelerator are ”magic” devices capable to push our knowledge of the universe, but also to cure terrible illness as cancer, to discover new materials and create new technologies. Our entire life would be very different without particle accelerators and I know that you are wondering how an accelerator is in your life, that is why you can ask me this and many other questions.
