For the 3rd year, researchers across Sweden will be competing to see who can present their research in the most inspiring and educational way – in just four minutes. Eleven regional heats of the Swedish science communication competition  – Researchers’ Grand Prix – will be taking place on 26 September as part of the European science festival Researchers’ Night.

As part of the contest, researchers have just four minutes to explain their research to a public audience. Together, an expert jury and the audience decide the winner. The finalists of the eleven regional heats will then compete in a national final on 25 November in Stockholm.

This year, Researchers’ Night is being held in 23 cities around Sweden and in over 30 countries around Europe.  Members of the public, including young people, are invited to participate in hundreds of free activities, try their hand at experiments, meet scientists and be inspired by research.

In 2014 Researchers’ Night will be held in Borås*, Eksjö, Eskilstuna, Gothenburg*, Jönköping, Karlshamn*, Kristianstad*, Lidköping, Linköping, Lund*, Malmö*, Skellefteå, Skövde, Stenungsund, Stockholm*, Sundsvall*, Trollhättan*, Umeå, Värnamo, Västerås*, Växjö*, Öland och Örnsköldsvik. Cities marked with * are also hosting the Researchers’ Grand Prix.
